If order to ensure the security of your login of Dealer Dashboard, we have introduced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for users who wish to add peace of mind that their login won’t be used by others.
To initiate MFA, log into Dealer Dashboard and enter your credentials.
Once you have logged in, click on your avatar (image) in the top right-hand corner of Dealer Dashboard and then click on My Account Security.
Once the My Account Security page initiates, you will see the heading Multi-Factor Authentication. Underneath the heading, simply click the Setup MFA button to begin.
Once clicked, a modal will appear that will direct you to first install an authentication application on your Apple or Android mobile device.
The link buttons to Google Play and the App Store will direct you to download Google Authenticator, however you can choose an alternate application if you wish.
Once you have downloaded the authentication app on your phone, follow these steps:
- Click the Plus icon (or depending on the application select ‘Add’)
- Select ‘Scan a QR code’, This will take you to your camera where you can scan the QR code shown on Dealer Dashboard (This may be Scan a Barcode on some devices)
- You will now see a time based 6 digit authentication code. Enter the 6 digit code into Dealer Dashboard at step 3 and you will see a Success message in the top right hand corner
Now that the finalisation is complete, you will receive an email confirming that you have successfully setup Multi-Factor Authentication.
After you have received the email, log out of Dealer Dashboard and then attempt to login again using your pre-existing username and password.
Once you have entered your details with the client number, you will now see the heading Multi-Factor Authentication that will ask you to enter the 6 digit code from your authenticator application.
Also, once you have setup MFA for one account, it is automatically applied to all of your accounts that you have access to!
Should you wish to turn off MFA once you have activated it, you will need to first log into Dealer Dashboard using MFA and then select My Account Security.
Once there, simply click ‘Disable MFA’ in order to turn MFA across all of your logins.
