Introduction
Sometimes, a vehicle is ready for photography while the inventory details are yet to be received from the feed. In such instances, it helps to create a placeholder inventory as a container for the 360° image, video and gallery images that are to be captured.
Instructions
Creating Temporary Vehicles
1. In Content Management confirm that the vehicle is not in the list by searching for it in the inventory list.
2. Tap “Add Temporary Vehicle”.
3. In the tab titled “Required Details", enter the required details which are the vehicle's
make and model, alternatively a reference will do.
4. To use the automated backend matching of content from the placeholder to the actual inventory, enter accurate details for: VIN, Stock Number and/or Registration Number. These details are found in the “Optional Details” tab.
5. Create an optional cover photo by tapping the highlighted camera icon. Remember that the placeholder inventory may be used for social media posts or for messaging, so a good quality photo should be used.
6. To complete the creation of the placeholder inventory, tap “Done” then verify that the details in the prompt are accurate. Tap “Confirm” to accept the temporary inventory.
7. Once completed, you are returned to the temporary vehicle and you should now create its 360° images, video and image gallery.
Vehicle Matching
Backend (automated) matching
The Auto360° backend frequently checks your dealership's feed for updates, and in doing so, content created against temporary inventory is copied to the actual inventory when the actual inventory becomes available in the inventory feed.
For the automated linking of content, the temporary vehicle and the actual inventory must share at least one unique identifier in VIN, stock number, or registration number.
Manual matching
For temporary inventory created with insufficient or inaccurate details, to copy content from the temporary to the actual inventory you would need to manually match the content from the temporary to the real inventory.
If you need to manually match a temporary inventory, use these steps to complete a successful match:
1. In content management, search for and select the temporary inventory.
2. Ensure that the temporary inventory’s content have completed uploading and processing.
3. Tap the Matching Icon.
4. In the ‘Vehicle Matching” view, tap “Find Match”.
5. Search for the real inventory and select it.
6. With the real inventory selected, tap “Match Vehicles”.
7. The content from the temporary inventory are copied to the real inventory, and the temporary inventory is deleted.
